Kiddie Ball Grades K-2: November 5
Grades 3-8: October 22
Grades 9-12: December 3

The Hebron Parks and
Recreation Youth Basketball program is available boys and girls in grades K-12.
Participants must reside in Hebron with exceptions are made for neighboring towns who do not have a basketball program.
The objective of the program is to:
- Ensure that all participants have an equal opportunity to participate and succeed
- Enhance self-esteem through physical, social, mental, and emotional growth by participating in organized, team orientated, basketball activities
- Coach fundamentals, improve skills, and develop a passion for basketball
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play
- Make basketball FUN and create lasting memories
- Provide an opportunity to participate in a higher level of competition through the travel program
Below are the basketball programs offered:
- Kiddy Ball (Grades K-2) - An instructional program taking place on Saturday mornings at GHS for 8 weeks
- Recreational (Grades 3-8) - Once a week practices with games normally on Saturdays against other Hebron teams as well as the Towns of Ashford, Bolton, Coventry, Mansfield, and Willington. Teams will be determined after evaluations to ensure fair and balanced competition. Season begins early December and cumulates with playoffs in early February.
- High School Recreational (Grades 9-12) - Once a week practices with games normally on Saturdays against other Hebron teams as well as the Towns of Ashford, Marlborough, and Willington. Teams will be determined after evaluations to ensure fair and balanced competition. Season begins early January and cumulates with playoffs in early March.
- Travel (Grades 5-8) - Competitive teams that practice twice a week with two games per weekend. Teams participate in either the North Central Connecticut Basketball League or the CT Basketball League and requires travel further than the surrounding towns. Teams will be determined after mandatory tryouts. Please note, that this is a travel team and cuts will be made. Season starts early December and ends early March.
We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to coach and shape our youth basketball participants. Please fill out and return the coaching application by e-mail to balessio@hebronct.com or drop it off at the Parks and Rec office.
